About me
My name is Luz Marie Iturbe, I am a Mexican artist living in Austin Texas.
I studied design at the “Universidad Iberoamericana” and established my own company of printing and graphic design in 1998.
In 2004 I participated in Isabel Leñero’s workshop where I learned oil and acrylic painting.
In 2009, I took a children’s book illustration workshop and became a member of the society of children’s books writers and illustrators SCBWI and was honored to participate in “the Girllustrators”, where I found not only great artist ladies but truly great friends.
I have volunteered at the Blanton Museum of fine arts and worked for Magda Sageg in the knitting graffiti movement.
Currently, I am a full-time artist and art teacher, I paint traditional and digital in all mediums, I do children’s book illustrations and oil paintings.
I live with my husband, three daughters, and my dog Kathness Evergreen (Kat).
I love to ride my bike and do yoga whenever I have a chance.
